Climbing Pioneer Tony Cousins Remembered
A beloved climbing pioneer is being remembered after succumbing to a heart attack while scaling a route at Smoke Bluffs Park Monday (July 28). Tony Cousins died while climbing Sally Five Fingers, a moderate 5.9 climb on the very popular Neat and Cool wall.

Climbers will find a welcome bit of reverse discrimination at Miguel’s Pizza, in the heart of the Red River Gorge, in Slade, Kentucky. A pizza box tacked to a tree out front reads “Climbers Only.” The man behind the sign is Portuguese émigré Miguel Ventura, 56, the owner of perhaps the most climber-friendly joint in the country.

EVEREST - CBC's New Two-Part Miniseries
A new two-part miniseries, Everest, set to air on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (www.cbc.ca) on August 31 and September 1, recreates one such fateful expedition. The four-hour series by Screen Door Productions (screendoor.org) tells the bittersweet tale of the 1982 Canadian expedition.
2008 Rifle Clean-Up
The 2008 Rifle Mountain Park Clean-Up will take place Saturday, September 6th in the canyon followed by a BBQ and party at the Community
House (that's up canyon past the campground). There will three kegs of Avery Beer and tons of food! $5 gets you food, beer, and raffle tickets!
The 8th Annual TRASH BASH
Boulder, Colorado's 8th Annual Flagstaff Trash Bash will be happening on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008, and
you know it will be raining booty. So mark your calendar, recruit/brainwash some friends, and
head up to the Summit to pick up trash, eat dinner, drink beverages, and walk away with the
goods. As always, there will be food, beverages and a raffle for all the volunteers following the cleanup.

A Week in the Bugaboos
